About me: Optimist would be one good word to describe me. I try to look for the silver lining in all situations, no matter how hard times may get, and this keeps me in good spirits, and has gotten me through many rough times. I am a very hopeful person, who believes we can achieve anything we set our minds to, so I don't cloud my life with needless negative energy. When I love, I love deep…so those I care about I care for with all my heart. I am extremely grateful for everything in my life, big or small. I have a wonderful loving family who I love with all my heart, and one day I hope to have a family of my own...for some reason I'm not in any rush, but know love will find me when I'm ready.

I love to travel, and explore new cultures and experiences. I lived my first 12yrs in Kenya, so I do have perspective of the world outside where I live. Although I'm a pretty shy person at first, I open up greatly when I get to know someone and establish trust with them. I consider myself a very trustworthy person, and treat other with the respect I hope to receive at all times. I love art (mainly drawing…recently pyrography), music, poetry, dancing, cooking (recently raw foods...so food prep) and learning from others. I planted my very first 20'x20' garden this spring 2012! It's become a huge passion of mine, and it's enriched my life more than I expected going in:)

I appreciate the small things in life, so it doesn't take much to make me genuinely smile. I was brought up Catholic, but since I started to open my mind to my personal beliefs independently, I would say I'm a very spiritual person but not religious. I find religion holds us back with conformity, I believe we are free spirits guided by our higher selves, and all connected as one. However I am very tolerant of the beliefs of others, and consider myself not a very judgmental person. My best friend growing up as a child was Muslim, and my current best friend is atheist...their religious beliefs don't change the relationships I have with them...instead it helps me better clarify my own beliefs.

In the summer of 2011 I experimented with 2 months of 100% raw foods, and loved the journey it took me on. It enhanced my life on a permanent level, and I live each day trying to better my health and share my knowledge with others through a health blog I created in result. Anita's Health Blog. I have posted something each and every day...since July 2011. Hoping to provide others with health info and keep myself on track as well...while sharing my journey with healthy living. I also share my garden experiences.

It gives me great satisfaction to help others any way I’m able, and wish more people would experience the joy of selfless giving. I do however believe that when helping others you must truly feel good about it, never out of obligation! I’m a very easy going person, and always open to meeting new people, gaining new perspectives, and forming lasting friendships, and learning for others, so don’t hesitate to say hello:)

Looking for: I'm looking to meet some interesting people here to help expand my spiritual knowledge, no expectations really, just to experience what comes my way.
However I would describe my ideal match as someone who is down to Earth with a loving nature. It's so important to me that my partner treats me and all others with respect, hopefully how he would want to be treated. Someone with a good sense of humor who I can joke around with and laugh with is also very important to me. It allows me to open up and be comfortable with being myself around them. And definitely someone who will accept the fact that as I grow I will evolve and change, someone who won't hinder my growth or expect me to change for them in ways that compromise who I am. Someone who will accept that we won't always agree but it's ok to agree to disagree on things now and then. After all we all live in our own realities;)

One who won't take life too seriously, someone who will compliment my life, not add stress to it. I'm very easy going, so someone who is personable, warm, and affectionate would be my ideal match. I am definitely an optimist, and I would hope my match would be open to seeing silver linings as well (not a pessimist). Someone that would lift my spirits not bring me down, and encourage me when I need it...as I would do the same always.

Good health is super important to me, so someone who will support my healthy choices is very important to me. So a non-smoker is a must...I like to keep my environment as toxic free as possible. Although I don't drink alcohol, I don't mind a partner who chooses to on occasion. I plan to live a long healthy vital life, and would hope to find someone who takes care of them self to do the same.

But as mentioned at the top, I'm not actively looking for a partner, but accepting what comes my way, knowing the right people will enter my life at the right time for different unique purposes:) Accepting and allowing, as Teal would put it. Until then, I really look forward to developing some wonderful friendships and insights.
